At Doorstep Vision, we believe everyone deserves access to exceptional eye care, regardless of their mobility. Our NHS home eye test service brings a fully equipped optometrist directly to your home, providing the same comprehensive eye examination you would expect from a high street practice.
We care for elderly patients, individuals living with disabilities, people recovering from illness, and anyone whose physical or mental health makes travelling difficult. Every appointment is unhurried, with plenty of time to understand your visual needs, answer questions, and carry out a thorough assessment.
You may be eligible for a free NHS-funded test if you're unable to leave home unaccompanied due to a physical disability, mental illness, medical condition, or frailty. We confirm your eligibility before the visit, at no cost and with no obligation — if you don't qualify, a private examination is also available.
