Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Doorstep Vision Opticians website and your booking of any home eye care services with us ("we", "us", "our"). By using our website or booking an appointment, you agree to these Terms.

2. Our Services

Doorstep Vision Opticians provides domiciliary (home visit) optician services, including NHS-funded and private eye examinations, minor eye condition assessments, care home eye care, glasses dispensing, and complimentary ear wax checks, delivered at your home or care setting.

3. NHS Eligibility

NHS-funded home eye tests are only available to patients who meet NHS eligibility criteria, as confirmed by us prior to your appointment. Where eligibility cannot be confirmed, or where you do not meet the criteria, a private examination fee will apply. We will always inform you of your eligibility status and any applicable costs before your appointment is confirmed.

4. Booking Appointments

Appointments can be booked via phone, email, WhatsApp, or our online booking form. A confirmed appointment is subject to availability. We will contact you to confirm the date and time of your visit.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments without notice may affect your ability to book future visits.

6. Fees & Payment

NHS-eligible examinations are provided free of charge. Private examinations, glasses, and any additional services are charged in accordance with our current pricing, which will be confirmed with you before your appointment. Payment terms will be communicated at the time of booking.

7. Glasses & Spectacle Orders

Glasses are made to your individual prescription following your examination. Delivery times may vary but are typically within 21 days. Please inform us promptly of any issues with fit or prescription so that we can arrange a suitable resolution.

8. Care Home & Third-Party Bookings

Where an appointment is booked on behalf of a patient by a family member, carer, or care home, the booking party is responsible for ensuring the patient's consent and providing accurate information necessary for the examination.

9. Patient Responsibilities

To help us provide safe and effective care, please ensure a suitable, well-lit space is available for the examination, and inform us in advance of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or accessibility requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

While we take great care to provide accurate and professional eye examinations, we cannot guarantee specific health outcomes. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for matters which cannot be limited or excluded under UK law, including death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

11. Website Use

Our website is provided for general information about our services. While we aim to keep information accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that the website will always be error-free or available without interruption.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
